Komodo Island is about 450 km (280 miles) east of Bali. The fastest route is a 1-hour direct flight from Denpasar Airport (DPS) to Labuan Bajo Airport (LBJ), with Garuda, Citilink, Wings Air, and Batik Air operating daily. From Labuan Bajo, the yacht departs for Komodo National Park. End to end, Bali to your first Komodo snorkel stop takes about 5 hours.

The standard luxury route is: private Alphard transfer to DPS, 1-hour flight to Labuan Bajo (LBJ), private port transfer, then board your phinisi yacht at 7am. The yacht sails directly into the park. We handle all legs — flight booking, port transfer, yacht boarding — as one seamless experience.

Four days (3 nights on yacht) is the minimum to see the park properly. Seven days (6 nights) is the sweet spot and our most popular — you see every iconic spot without rushing. Day trips from Bali exist but we don’t offer them; the value is in waking up on the boat in the park.

April through November is the dry season with calm seas, clear visibility for diving, and comfortable weather. July-August is peak (book 3-6 months ahead). May, June, September, and October are the sweet spots — great weather, fewer boats, better pricing. The park is open year-round but December-March has rougher seas.

If you’re the kind of traveler who values remote, genuinely unique experiences, yes — completely. Komodo is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The dragons live nowhere else. Pink Beach is one of only seven in the world. Padar at sunrise is iconic. One-hour flight from Bali makes it the easiest luxury add-on in Southeast Asia.

Technically possible (early flight out, late flight back), but not something we offer or recommend for luxury travelers. You’d spend 6 hours in transit for maybe 4 hours in the park, miss Padar sunrise, and never experience waking up on the yacht. Minimum 3 nights delivers the actual Komodo.

Included: private phinisi with crew (captain, chef, steward, dive master), all meals prepared on board, soft drinks and water, snorkel gear, fishing gear, park entrance fees, dinghy transfers to islands, and 24/7 WhatsApp concierge. Alcoholic beverages, spa services, and international flights are separate.

You need an Indonesian visa for Bali and Komodo — it’s the same country. Most nationalities get Visa on Arrival (30 days, extendable). No separate visa needed for Komodo. We provide visa guidance within your quote, and our visa services team handles longer stays like KITAS.

Yes — Komodo is family-friendly for kids 6 and older who swim. The phinisi has safety rails and a dive master watches snorkeling. For kids under 6, we recommend shorter 4-day itineraries and specific boats with extra cabin space. We brief every family individually before confirming.
