Bali Yacht Charter — Premium Private Fleet, Transparent Day Rates & Concierge Crew

Bali Yacht Charter — Premium Private Fleet, Transparent Day Rates & Concierge Crew

A private yacht charter in Bali costs from USD 990.90 per boat per day (about Rp 15,855,000) for a fully crewed 12–13 metre vessel carrying up to 13 guests. That single figure covers the boat, captain, crew, fuel, snorkelling equipment, lunch and entrance tickets — there is no per-person surcharge on a private charter. If you prefer a shared sailing instead of the whole boat, cruise departures from Benoa start at USD 57 per person (Rp 912,000). Every rate below is published exactly as we quote it on WhatsApp, so you can compare durations and vessels before you ever speak to our concierge team.

How much does a yacht charter in Bali cost?

Most Bali operators hide their rates behind an enquiry form. We publish ours. A full-day private charter on the Bali Premium Trip fleet is priced per boat, not per guest, which means a full group of 13 works out to roughly USD 76 per person — with the entire vessel to yourselves. Shared cruise products (a Bali day cruise or dinner sailing) are priced per person and suit couples or solo travellers who do not need a private deck.

Charter type Pricing basis USD IDR (indicative)
Private full-day yacht charter (up to 13 guests) Per boat from USD 990.90 from Rp 15,855,000
Shared day cruise, Benoa Per person USD 57 Rp 912,000
Lunch sailing on board Per person USD 20 Rp 320,000
Half-day / sunset-only private charter Per boat Quoted on request against the day rate — see the estimate guide below

IDR figures use the same conversion we apply across our published packages (USD 57 = Rp 912,000). Final invoices are issued in USD.

The private fleet: capacity, rates, duration and routes

Three dedicated vessels operate under Bali Premium Trip. Each runs with its own captain and crew, and each is chartered whole — your group is never combined with another booking.

Vessel Length Capacity Private day rate Typical route
Angels Yacht 13 m 13 guests USD 990.90 Serangan → Nusa Lembongan → Nusa Penida
Riki J Yacht 13 m 14 guests USD 993.60 Serangan → Nusa Penida snorkelling circuit
Sea Dragon 12 m 12 guests USD 997.65 Serangan → Nusa Penida (40-minute crossing)

Sea Dragon is the fleet’s twin-outboard speedboat: a wide bow deck with bean-bag loungers, a weather-protected cabin with wrap-around windows, and a 40-minute crossing from Serangan harbour to Nusa Penida. Angels and Riki J carry slightly larger groups on the same waters. Bali yacht hire: a note for Australian travellers

Searching for yacht hire in Bali or boat hire in Bali? You are in the right place — “hire” and “charter” describe the same product here. Every hire is skippered: Indonesian maritime rules and the reef-strewn Badung Strait mean bareboat self-drive hire is not offered, so your rate always includes a licensed captain and crew. Flights from Perth and the east coast land mid-morning, which pairs neatly with a next-day 8:00 am harbour departure — most Australian guests book the full-day hire, add a sunset leg on the return, and are back at their villa in Seminyak or Uluwatu by early evening. Rates are quoted in USD; AUD card payments simply settle at your bank’s daily rate.

What every charter includes

  • Private vessel — your group only, never a shared manifest
  • Licensed captain, professional crew and an English-speaking guide
  • Fuel for the published route, harbour fees and all entrance tickets
  • Premium snorkelling sets for every guest
  • Lunch, drinking water and fresh towels
  • Underwater GoPro photography by your guide
  • Health insurance during the trip

Hotel transfers, crew gratuities and alcoholic drinks are arranged separately — tell the concierge when you book and they are added to one itinerary, one invoice.

Estimating half-day and full-day rates

The published rates above are full-day (roughly eight hours pier to pier). Two quick rules of thumb let you estimate anything shorter before you enquire:

  • Hourly equivalent: USD 990.90 ÷ 8 hours ≈ USD 124 per charter hour, all-inclusive.
  • Half-day and sunset legs: shorter charters are quoted against that day rate rather than at a flat 50%, because crewing, fuel positioning and harbour slots are fixed costs. Expect a half-day quote to sit above half the day rate, and ask the concierge to price your exact window — the quote is free and comes back the same day.

For groups larger than 14, two vessels run in convoy — a popular format for celebrations, and the reason our luxury boat trip itineraries scale from a couple to twenty-six guests without changing the service standard.

Where a Bali yacht charter can take you

From Serangan, the standard full-day arc crosses the Badung Strait to Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida: Manta Point or Crystal Bay for snorkelling, Kelingking clifftop viewed from the water, and a lazy lunch anchorage. From Benoa, calmer in-bay sailings suit sunset dinners and family celebrations — browse the full Bali cruise line-up for those. Multi-day expeditions east toward Komodo National Park are handled by our sister brand Komodo Luxury, whose fleet operates from Labuan Bajo.

Bali Premium Trip operates within Juara Holding Group, whose Indonesian marine-tourism brands have run charters since 2015 — the same standards, crew training and safety protocols apply across the group.

Serangan harbour: the practical details

Charters board at Serangan, the small working harbour on Bali’s south-east coast — roughly 20 minutes from Sanur, 25 from Seminyak and Nusa Dua, and 35 from Ubud in normal traffic. Parking is available at the pier, and the concierge sends a WhatsApp map pin with your confirmation so drivers do not get lost in the mangrove lanes. Arrive fifteen minutes before departure: the crew fits snorkel gear and runs the safety briefing dockside, so the moment lines are cast off, the day is already under way. Morning departures are strongly recommended between April and October — the strait is calmest before midday, and the first boats to Manta Point get the site to themselves.

Yacht rental, boat rental, charter: the terms untangled

Search engines treat yacht rental Bali, boat rental Bali and boat charter Bali as different products; on the water they are one and the same — a crewed private vessel booked by the day. The only genuine distinctions worth knowing are the ones priced above: private (per boat) versus shared (per seat), and full-day versus shorter windows. Anything advertised as a “rental without crew” in these waters should raise an eyebrow rather than expectations — skippered operation is the legal and sensible standard here, and it is why every rate on this page already includes the people who make the day effortless.

Want the day to run past sunset? The overnight yacht charter extends the same fleet into a sleep-aboard or yacht-by-day, villa-by-night format.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a private yacht charter in Bali?

From USD 990.90 per boat per full day (about Rp 15,855,000), including captain, crew, fuel, lunch, snorkelling gear and entrance tickets, for up to 13 guests.

Can I rent a yacht in Bali without a captain?

No. All Bali charters are skippered — Indonesian regulations and local reef navigation require a licensed captain, who is already included in every published rate.

How many people fit on a chartered yacht?

Our vessels carry 12 to 14 guests each. Larger groups charter two boats in convoy, which keeps the per-person cost close to USD 76–83 when decks are full.

What is the difference between a yacht charter and a boat hire in Bali?

Nothing — they are the same skippered, all-inclusive product. “Hire” is simply the term Australian and British guests tend to search for.

Is fuel included in the charter price?

Yes. Fuel for the published route, harbour fees and entrance tickets are all inside the quoted rate. The only common extras are hotel transfers, alcohol and crew gratuities.

How far in advance should I book?

Three to seven days is comfortable in most months. In July, August and the year-end holidays the three vessels sell out first, so confirm as early as you can.
